“Arena” is another episode from Star Trek: The Original Series that I have a love/hate relationship with. It contained a lot more action than the normal Trek episode but on the flip side it didn’t age very well.
Gene Roddenberry had a dream. He invented a universe where humans had eliminated disease, poverty, war, bigotry, and greed by banding together to seek out new life and to boldly go where no man had gone before. Sound familiar? It should. Unfortunately for us, that day is a long ways off. We live in a society where money does most of the talking, where absolute power corrupts absolutely, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It’s important in today’s society to ensure you have good credit in case of emergencies, yet the reality is that some people either don’t care about their credit or don’t know how to repair the damage that they may have done to it. If you think that not all companies know or can find out about your financial history, then you’re not living in the twenty-first century.
Chances are you are reading this because you either just bought Dungeon Defenders and are looking for general tips and tricks or you accidentally mistook my blog for a medieval porn site. I assure you, you’re reading the former.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret about myself. I’ve never read comic books despite my love for science fiction and computers. I have a basic understanding of who the main superheroes are but when you ask me stuff about the DC or Marvel Universe I’ll probably just give you a blank stare. Luckily, you don’t have to be a hardcore comic book fan to enjoy Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum.

There are days when things go your way.
People are spoiled by cell phones, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Luckily that isn’t a bad thing. Back when I was a kid being on America Online to check my email was the new big thing. Downloading a ten second .wav (sound) file could take five minutes, give or take, based on your dialup connection. Now we have a way to send messages to each other in less time than it takes you to type the message on your phone.
It was painful to put Dungeon Defenders aside but the sacrifice was well worth it.
So there I am, wandering along the cobblestone road with about four hundred pounds of equipment on my back like I always do, wishing I had more inventory space so I could pick up more crap so I could sell it to the blacksmith back in town. Problem is, there’s a quest ahead and I don’t really feel like turning back now.

Time travel…it wouldn’t be a science fiction show or movie if there wasn’t time travel involved. Whether it’s a slingshot around the sun or a large malformed donut sticking out of the ground, Star Trek surely covers it.
