It’s been a while since I’ve covered this game, but that doesn’t mean I’ve grown tired of it. Trendy is continuously adding DLC to keep the game interesting…some of it free, some not. Even without the DLC, this game would keep me occupied for quite a long time. There’s always a character to level and new loot to be equipped. In this article, I’m going to cover the latest character added as DLC: The Barbarian.
“Awwwwwww, look at the cute wittle puppy! I want one!”
It usually starts out this way. People are so overwhelmed by the cuteness factor that they rationalize somewhere in their mind that they have the means to take care of the animal should they take it home with them. If you’re looking to bring a forever friend home with you, there are a few things you ought to know before you do.
So, you’ve done the research. You’ve browsed various websites and retail stores. You’ve opened your wallet, pulled out your bank card, and cursed repeatedly as you watched your hard-earned money tumble out of your checking account. Now you have a couple of giant boxes sitting in your living room, gathering dust because you “don’t want to break it.”
The writers and creators of Star Trek had a lot of damage control to do. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier didn’t live up to their financial expectations (surprise, surprise) and they needed to bring the franchise back…or at least end it on a more positive note. Nicholas Meyer returned to direct this film, which was met with mixed feelings. Having directed the rather pitiful Star Trek: The Motion Picture and the extremely successful Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, fans weren’t sure what they were in for. It turned out however that the movie wasn’t half bad…in fact the film turned out to be pretty damn good. It was the only Star Trek film to be awarded the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film. It had a good mix of both humor and suspense. Leonard Nimoy had a hand in writing the script so I must conclude that it was all him. All credit therefore should go to Leonard Nimoy. Concerning anything. There is no other possibility. Resistance is fut…not logical.
When it comes to letting their emotions run away with them, humans are their own worst enemy. If they believe something long enough, they will eventually find a way to make it come true. For that reason, there are people who REFUSE to play this game because of the hype on how scary it is…but…is it really?
“Hey my mane man, did u hr that knew texting law? Its so LOLz bra, like uber unl337. We shuld go sea Twilight tommorrow…JK bra…JK!”
“Just one more turn…Just one more turn…I’ve got time for another one…G&% F&*^%*&^ D**%&^%&!!! The sun just came up and I’ve got to leave for work in an hour!”
“Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I’m serious, that’s what it says: “A horrible person.” We weren’t even testing for that. Don’t let that horrible-person thing discourage you. It’s just a data point. If it makes you feel any better, science has now validated your birth mother’s decision to abandon you on a doorstep.” – GLaDOS
“To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge.” – Socrates
I generally don’t get fired up over something on the news, but a recent string of news articles on WTAE only strengthens my belief that the world we live in is bass ackwards.
Just dropping a quick line to you MMO and Star Trek fans to inform you that Star Trek Online recently went free to play. How does it play and is it worth playing? Let’s take a peek at what’s inside, shall we?
It was just a matter of time before I got to this train wreck. It appalls me to associate a title as majestic as “The Final Frontier” with a movie that would be best used as a rehabilitation device for juvenile delinquents…and by rehabilitation device I mean torture device.
With Torchlight II and Diablo III on the horizon, there may be no better time to check out Torchlight if you haven’t done so already.
There is some speculation about a new SimCity game on the horizon, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet. I personally can’t wait…the last SimCity game to have been released was back in 2007. Not many would call that particular game, SimCity Societies, hardcore however. Many were turned off by the dumbed down, kiddie version of the series. Those who hated it are still playing SimCity 4 which was released in 2003. Sure, you have games like Cities XL to fill the void, but any SimCity fanboy (and fangirl) knows that there just isn’t a substitute for building a great empire and then laughing manically as you tag team Godzilla in to wipe it all off the face of the planet.
I have to admit I don’t look upon First Person Shooters with the same level of respect as I do with strategy games. Rather than planning out your moves and thinking ahead, you’re often thrust into a situation where you have to gun down all the bad guys while trying to stay alive. Without a compelling storyline to keep me engaged, I quickly get bored and move on to the next game.
I’ve decided to make a few changes in my life and losing weight was one of them. As a result, I broke down and bought an elliptical, crying silent tears as I watched part of my tax refund check bite the dust. For those of you in the market for an elliptical, I figured I’d share my experiences with this particular one so far.
